You don't need to write a novel for these ideas to matter. And you probably don't need more information. You simply need something that matters enough to you that

you've grown tired of postponing it.

People sometimes ask whether I am DillyDally.

The honest answer is no—but we are kindred spirits.

Like many people, I know what it's like to carry big ambitions while repeatedly getting in my own way. After six decades of living, the costs have been devastating. I know the frustration of procrastination, self-sabotage, and wondering why good intentions so often fail to become meaningful action.

That question has plagued me for most of my adult life. DillyDally and the Do Manifesto was born from that search.

The novel follows Dilwyn Dalley, a young man who feels stuck, disconnected, and unable to understand why he continually undermines the life he wants to build. When he discovers a battered, once professionally bound book filled with curious observations about action, responsibility, and human nature, he begins an unexpected journey of transformation. As he pieces together the book's missing pages, he slowly begins piecing together himself.

What began as a work of fiction became something unexpected. Writing Dilwyn's story forced me to confront many of the same questions I had been avoiding in my own life. In searching for answers, I gradually developed a practical philosophy centred on one enduring question:

How does a human being come to know they can trust themselves? Especially after falling behind on the promises they’ve made to themselves?

That question became the foundation of Do Manifesto—a philosophy of human agency and a practical operating system for helping people close the gap between intention and action.

I don't claim to have all the answers. And I don't know what matters most to you. But I do know what it's like to lose trust in yourself—and what it takes to begin earning it back. To be trustworthy to oneself is not something that you declare. And it's not confidence.

Everything I've written, and everything I teach, grows from that continuing pursuit. As agency is cultivated, self-trust emerges. Let's start right where you are.
